I'm going to be starting prozac soon and the general consensus in it is, mixed, to say the least. Anyone wanna share their experience with prozac?

I take Prozac and there's pros and cons! Some of the pros: Being on a low dose while also taking other meds works well for me It helps my anxiety overall Some cons: Being on a high dose caused my heart rate to increase, which made my anxiety really bad(this was just from personal experience. My dad takes 40mg and is fine with it. I take 10mg and can tolerate that!) It can also give you headaches/dizziness. I've gone through quite a few meds and most of them have given me severe headaches and such, and this one is the least Overall, I think it's a pretty good medicine. Several of my family members take it as well and do really good with it!

I tried it and it didn't work, I have found that it depends on what reason your taking it, my dad is on it for his depression and is on 40mg and it's working great for him with no real side effects, My partner has just started this about a month ago for S.A.D (seasonal affective disorder) on 20mg and its working great for him, he's able to actually function get up and go to work with no pushing from me, he's had a few side effects but after a few weeks they wore off things like nauseousness and low blood sugars but he makes sure he eats something with it and he's fine, everyone reacts differently to medication. My GP has told me don't be afraid to go back and say hey this plan isn't working can we try something else, but my advice would be try it give it the 6-8 weeks that they advice it takes to "kick" in and if you don't like it tell them and try a different one. I've been on 3/4 different ones and the only one I've ever felt that works for me and because of other medical reasons the only one I can take is mitazipine but my partner tried that and it did nothing . Everyone reacts differently Hope that helps :)

i didn't appreciate it too much when i took it. it decreased my appetite very dramatically, made me unable to sleep properly, and just made it really difficult to think. my friend and i talked about it and we both felt like it made us unable to think deeply and we were just dazed all the time.

Prozac was my first medication. It worked really well at first but eventually, it just completely stopped working. I will say I gained a significant amount of weight while taking it
