I recently got covid for the second time and just like the last time, it's lasted for almost 3 weeks. I still currently have it but I'm going on 3 weeks with it. I've missed school for 2 weeks and my family members think I'm faking feeling sick just to get out of school. My cousin also has covid right now and my family feels bad for her and are sending her get well soon messages but I also have it and they're saying to me "why are you home from school?" "it can't be that bad" "you're going to make your mother go to jail if you miss any more school" it's literally not my fault I'm sick. I don't know why there's a double standard and I don't know what I've ever done to be disliked by my family so much but here we are I guess.

you’re family is in the wrong , get a test , and show them you’re sick , i understand feeling sick then being told you’re not sick to get out of things , and it’s not your fault, just live your truth and know you’re being honest and that’s all you need, all you need is to know you’re right. it doesn’t matter if your family thinks you’re wrong, at least you know you’re in the right

I’m sorry not only are you sick but you’re family being toxic is just ugh. It’s not your fault, they’re just being unreasonable and don’t let them make you believe otherwise. It’s not really about what you did, you don’t deserve to be treated like this but sadly your family kind of sucks. Are you in contact with school counselors or other support? It could be useful to have that with the covid absences and your family not being supportive.

Covid is different for every person every time. I had it a year ago and May and dealt with a week of feeling like I had an intense cold. Got it again this past May…EIGHT WEEKS. Eight weeks of being miserable. And even now I’m still not back to normal. It just depends on so many things. You are not alone! I know it’s so stressful trying to please people or make them understand, but at the end of the day, you know how you feel, and if someone can’t accept how you know that it’s then it’s their issue.

Were you vaccinated prior? I noticed my second time getting it after shots went away faster than the first which lasted weeks also! Still uncomfortable either way though. Hope you’re feeling better!

@Cece7 I haven't been vaccinated, my mom won't let me, but then again I get sick like this for everything

I got covid as soon as it went from 2 weeks to 5 day like isolation and I took 5 weeks before reentering school. Covid hits everhone so differently and frick what they say. This is a pandemic and we need to focus on our health as much as you can. I had the same gaslighting stuff from my dad who still doesn’t believe my pots, but your feelings are valid!! Take care of yourself at your pace

@Ijinglewheniwalk thank you! It's good to know I'm not alone in this, sorry you had to go through that with the gaslighting, it's really not fun

@bubblyio it’s so not!! Honestly it’s why I got this app and it’s been amazing seeing I’m not alone. Don’t let other people tell you how to feel!!
