Trigger warning csa So recently I’ve told my family about my assault. They’ve have been supportive which is good. I stayed silent for 11 years. I feel like I’m ready to address it but ever since I told them it’s like it freshly happened. I’m doing so much worse. I even started hallucinating again and I haven’t had one for 5 years. Anyone get worse after people found out?

Yes. It brings things to the surface again for a little while. Trust yourself to get through this.

Proud of you! I'm sorry about what you're going through. It's very common to have an increase of symptoms and distress when you're working through trauma, but you'll be better for it. Unfortunately, progress is initially painful with PTSD, but it's necessary. I recommend seeing a trauma therapist if you aren't already because they can make it much easier and even eliminate symptoms through reprocessing. I've loved both E.M.D.R. and A.R.T.
