Can you heal with just medication and not a therapist? or is a therapist more helpful with medication?

When I was very first diagnosed with anxiety, I actually only did therapy which helped me work with coping mechanisms and then when we realized I needed added help is when I was put on some anxiety meds and the combination of both has helped me a lot

I think it’s possible, if you’re willing to put in a lot of work on your own. I suffer from a phobia and so I purchased a sort of program to put myself through to heal that. And that helped more than any therapy I had done because in my area there’s no therapists that specialize in phobias. But I’m still not in a great place, and I wish I was in therapy right now, but my mom isn’t being corporative lol. Wishing you the best

i take medication and see a therapist. i’d honestly probably be a lot worse without either in my life at this point.

You can be helped by a therapist alone (I’ve not found one yet that’s worked well for me). And you can be helped by medication alone (I only take medication). But, a combination of both is usually best (I may need to seek out a therapist).

medication alone will not help you. what medication does is makes it easier to heal, using tools such as DBT and CBT. the best way to do it is a combination of both.
