TL;DR Does Zoloft work for you? What else helps? What are your side effects? Are you on any other medications? I’ve been on Zoloft (Sertraline) for about 8 years now and I think it works really well for me but I’m still experiencing anxiety. I find myself either waking up or going to bed being more anxious and I know that it stays in your system for awhile but if I forget I can tell SAME DAY that I messed up and I have anxiety attacks and get nauseous which is hard because I have emetophobia too. Does Zoloft work for you? How long have you been in it?

I'm on 200mg of zoloft and I've been on (200mg) since I was 13 or 14. My anxiety is gone, but my medicine makes me quite tired. It doesn't work well for my depression, or intrusive thoughts.

I just started sertraline (zoloft) couple weeks ago. It works for me, only thing I feel sleepy. Is there anyone experiencing same symptom? I am planning to get half tablet.

i’ve been on zoloft for almost 4 years, and i feel like my panic attacks have lessened, but i still get bad anxiety from time to time, usually at night. something my peers and parents have told me i’m less angry and i get frustrated less. i’ve been told since i’m on a higher dose that it’s supposed to work as an antidepressant and anxiety medication but i’m not sure how effective it is since i’ve been in a rough spot as of recently. all i know is that smoking weed stops the medication from working entirely. so if you smoke i would maybe ask your doctor what else you can try. missing the pill makes me have an out of body experience and woozy, so always take it within an hour or two of when you took it last the next day.

Zoloft works great for my depression but no so much for my anxiety

I’ve been on sertraline for 10 years and I feel the exact same way! I’ve grown up taking it so I really have no idea what it’s like to function without having it in my system. I still have anxiety that feels unmanageable at times, but If I miss a pill I certainly feel the side effects.

I'm on Seroquel and it helps me sleep and function, can't be without it.

i’m on zoloft and i don’t know how well you should use me as an example since i’ve been told by professionals the most adults are out on disability with my level of anxiety, but it has helped me and i still have frequent anxiety, my anxiety has caused my legs and arms to sparatically go numb and that doesn’t happen since, i still experience daily panic attacks but less than before

Zoloft does not work for me. Im currently on Prozac which works fairly well. Zoloft is among the many antidepressants that simply don’t do it for me.

I personally take Prozac but from what I hear if Zoloft doesn’t work, Prozac is likely to. Antidepressants are weird like that and every person has a different reaction. If your Zoloft helps all of your other symptoms besides your anxiety, I’d recommend asking your doctor if it would be helpful to increase the dose, add a medication, or use other coping mechanisms to help with ur anxiety.

I’ve been on Zoloft for a little under a year, and honestly.. it’s been amazing except when I accidentally miss a dose. I was on Lexapro first, which was a big no. I have extreme anxiety around any form of… accident. Two days after I started Lexapro, I soiled myself twice and had to use the bathroom 50+ times, sprinting every time. (That was a story just to add to the next part) I don’t know if it’s a side effect that carried over from Lexapro or one that’s just from Zoloft, but I still have a lot of issues with bowel movements and such, and gas. On the daily though, I’ve generally been better! I almost caused a head on collision when I was 16, and hadn’t been able to get in a driver’s seat for 5 years without having an anxiety attack. I now have a license and drive myself to and from work every day. I have always had social anxiety, I am now able to happily greet absolute strangers, offer them help, and make (awkward) small talk without freaking out too too much. I have abandonment issues.. so bad that if a person leaves a room without waving, saying bye, telling me why they’re leaving, and/or visually acknowledging me with a smile, I start to immediately spiral. I’ve been able to quell that as well! I can handle, to some degree, confrontation. I can handle being stopped and asked for help. I can better handle being approached by strangers. No medicine will cure anxiety, but it treats it and makes it more manageable. For me, at least. As for side effects, I get these weird electric zap sensations in my head that make me dizzy. Mostly when I miss a dose, but sometimes when I don’t. They’re bad enough that I can’t drive or I’ll probably crash

I just started Zoloft a month ago and it makes me feel uneven. It's like my skin is crawling, I get cramps and diarrhea, I end up having night sweats and then not even being able to fall asleep.

It works for me periodically. My doctor tends to switch my Zoloft to Flouxotine if I start to deteriorate, and vice versa. It usually gets switched every 1-3 years

I have been on Zoloft for 2-3 years now. I still deal with occasional anxiety but my panic attacks have stopped completely unless I need to up the medicine.
