For me, Rexulti has really helped. I take it with my effexor, which hadn’t done a whole lot for me but once I added rexulti I wasn’t as groggy all day and I had a little bit more energy during the day (I was always so sleepy during the daytime). I still really struggle with motivation though so I haven’t noticed it helping with that, just the sleepiness/energy factor but that was a huge issue for me

I've tried citalopram before, and it made my symptoms a lot worse, but I think that may have also been because I was younger at the time. Either way, it's always important to remember to pay attention to any symptoms you notice on a new medication during the trial period and bring it up with your mental health provider!
For me personally, Prozac gave me manic side effects but Celexa (Citalopram) mellowed me out. There was a time I refused to take any pill form of medication and that was my only option for a liquid form with insurance. I think that's the most normal I've personally felt on an antidepressant.

I've been on my Prozac for a while now, I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you're comfortable with it. It gives me a boost of energy when I take it and makes it easier for me to have a better mentality tackling my day. The way I describe it is it doesn't 'get rid of the depression', but it makes it way easier to manage. (Using my skills, having energy to do things to feel better, ECT) it's also a medication that has a longer half life, so if you're like me and miss a dose, it'll be okay, as long as you take it the next day. Hope this helps!
