I’m having an injection/epidural in my spine in a few hours…. I was in an accident beginning of December and after having scans done, we learned I have bulging disks w/ a tear between my L4/L5, and arthritis in my spine. This will be my first injection, and I’m kinda (extremely) nervous. Any advice? What should I expect? And should I opt in or out of anesthesia?

I never get anesthesia and I do fine. It’s just a few needl pricks and it’s nothing compared to my daily pain. The injections worked awesome for 5 years but now not helping. Trying to find answers myself. Try it. It might work great for you. Good luck!

Hopefully it works for you. I've had plenty injections and none has helped.

❤️Thank you Alexandriavictoria, I had the procedure done with no problem or issue. I was in and out within an hour and a half. I was numbed and then put under anesthesia, which obviously made the whole thing fly by lol but compared to the epidurals I received for labor, this was cake! Not nearly as stressful or uncomfortable as before. It just felt like I had a nice nap. I’m sorry your facility isn’t offering you anesthesia, I think you’ll be fine even without it though. You’re not alone either ☺️ I hope you have a easy and speedy recovery.

I’m having the same thing done to my neck next month due to a accident as well and they told me that where I’m getting it done at doesn’t do anesthesia and I’m super nervous about it too. I know I don’t have advice for you but I just wanted you to know your not alone
