Am new to this. I'm struggling with GERD. It's something I've dealt with since I was a child, my pediatricians all failed to help me figure out what was wrong so it wasn't until I started seeing a new doc not long ago that I learned what was wrong, and it's slowly sinking in and eating away at me. The fact that when 21 hits I can't have alcohol, that I'll have to give up my coffee (that addiction will take time and will hurt), that most of my favorite foods will have to be modified or cut completely... Am I the only one who feels that...... idk empty? Disappointed..?
I’m not sure exactly what meds you’re on for that but a combination of 40mg protonix and 1g of sucralfate both 2x daily has really helped. I hadn’t drank coffee in so long since it gave me extreme acid reflux but I’ve been able to drink it again since being consistent with meds
My doctor has my on Esomeprazole, slow release iron (said her daughter takes both and that regular iron hurt but slow release was easier on the tum), and two others with no relation.
