You know, I’ve thought about this too, and it really messed me up for a bit because I can’t “get better” but I’ve come to learn that “getting better” isn’t based on if I can change that chemical imbalance, it’s about what im doing to deal with it. I think it’s important to remember we can’t “heal” that part of us but we can educate and do our best to understand and seeing if even meds can help.

I totally get what you are saying, but I had the opposite reaction! It made me feel like it wasn’t just my fault for not being able to be happy and ground myself. While I can’t just fix that imbalance permanently, I can fix it in a daily basis everyday with meds. It is sad that I have to take them everyday and sometimes it is a bigger challenge than others, but ultimately I do have it in my power to heal.

I understand. Maybe we won't be "healed" but we can learn things and grow

I wanna add to that other wonderful comment. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the severity of your condition (I do, a LOT) try to focus on what you CAN control. Yes, i know it’s hard. I’m not great at it either yet, but I’ve found if you can manage that, it helps tremendously 👀
