I've been diagnosed with Grade 4 or very severe gastroparesis. My GES showed 77% solid food still in my stomach after 4 hours. I just don't want to manage this on top of everything else. I'm studying to be a nurse but my health keeps setting me back...

I have had " extreamy sever" GP for about 16 months now. I am a tube feed failure, completely NPO for over a year. I am now totally on strictly TPN. We have tried just about every thing. 4 GIs later and we are rather stumped still. I am SO tired of it!!! I wish I could atleast taste something salty. SHOOT, I would push a cow out of the way in order to get the salt block.....lol

Don't give up... I managed to finish my MSW with TPN etc, but dropped out of the doctoral program for now. I'm treated at the Cleveland Clinic and they didn't force it until it was becoming too burdensome. Just keep moving forward... I fully intend on going back. This is just a step along the road. Even baby steps are still steps.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Of all my ailments, gastroparesis sure has proved to be the most difficult to deal with - daily. I’m a wife, mom to seven and grandmother to four. Food is everything and everywhere! It’s depressing not being able to eat what I make for them and if I do, I pay the price dearly. My biggest advices to you: Advocate for yourself and Do ONLY what works for you. Every body is different. Don’t get hung up on your progress and regressions. It’s an abyss of a rabbit hole 🥹 Hang in there.

I'm sorry to hear this, it's an awful disease. I struggle with it as well. You got this tho! It seems daunting now but you will figure it all out. Just takes time unfortunately

@Bex854 Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm just all over the place currently cause I was hospitalized from a kidney infection less than a little over a week ago and it messed me up 😖
