Me and my bf got into a fight I struggle with binge eating. And I told him yesterday how I hate my body and how he basically needs to be careful about what he says to me. And the following day he told me I eat more than him and I need professional help when I ate one bite of food ??? So I have high emotions and I told him he needs to shut up and I broke up with him. After going back and worth he apologized and I guess I forgave him. But I’m still really mad , upset, and depressed.

You don't have to forgive people when they apologize. You can accept the apology and move on while maintaining your boundaries. You can accept the apology, but still make it clear that it's not okay, it's not to happen again, and they are not forgiven. If you one day decide that you do forgive them, you can tell them that. But no one is entitled to forgiveness just because they apologized. Don't say it's ok if it's not. Don't forgive if it's bothering you. Don't let the bad feelings fester. Acknowledge you are hurt, dont hide it. You can't fix a situation by ignoring it. You can only move on by facing it head-on and solving the issue. I don't know the full situation, so I can't speak on your relationship. I dont know if this is a pattern or a one-off incident. But I will say, don't waste your time on someone who doesn't respect you or your boundaries. Not just romantic relationships. All relationships.
