having massive anxiety about taking public transit for my internship. i’ve taken the bus before but i’m not sure if i pull to stop if the stop is on the route and a designated stop, it seems to change with every bus driver and it’s almost impossible for me to know where i am in vehicles. they move too fast, i get disoriented every time. i have to get up at 6 to get on by 6:45, then walk another half mile or so. any advice to calming my nerves? communicating with my CT about it

Maybe sit in the front so you have easy access to the exit and the bus driver, so if you need to speak up, it’s easy. You can also listen to music, I find that it helps me calm down. You can also be aware of your surroundings to feel more in control. Maybe also wake up just a little early and leave a little early to give yourself room for any slow downs so you aren’t stressed out. Remember, whatever happens, it’s not the end of the world. Take care!<3

When I first had to take public transport I felt the same way!! Most public transport has an app of the different routes as well as tracking the current route you are on. I look at the route on my phone to see where the next stop is/where I need to get off. Then I can mentally prepare when to pull for a stop. Even if a stop is part of the route it doesn’t hurt to pull for the stop. Also I listen to music and find a place where I feel comfortable sitting.

If you have an iPhone you can set a location based reminder that alerts you once you reach (insert pin point or location) so you can be ready get off at the correct spot
