I'm really struggling. I continuously am having dizzy spells whenever I stand up. I told me doctor and she did the test to check my blood pressure, but the nurse did such a slapdash job. So I was sent on my way with no answers on why I'm doing so poorly. Like even while I was there I got super dizzy when I stood up and almost fell over. I've never passed out as of today. I just. idk. any thoughts? I might not have pots but idk what it is if not

      Did they check for vertigo? I had Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo and got sent to a physical therapist for it and it helped dramatically, despite my doubts.

      And to follow up on what you can do about it: seriously, set a 3L water goal and become a water champ, bc there's not a whole what else you can do if your diet is not mismanaged to be fixed. Set the first goal at 1L if you're not great at it, a week later set it to 2L, then the next week set it to three. Gameify it and have some sort of reward for hitting it each day (you get a cookie, or a round on your fave game, or you budget toward something you've been wanting...), and keep a log. Time flies. Try not to chug or that just makes you pee and doesn't actually keep you hydrated and thus defeats the purpose. Although, I do find that chugging some right before going to sleep helps me make sure I get up for things on time, and chugging some right after I wake up in the morning definitely helps to rehydrate after that eight or so hours I just spent not putting anything in my system. People seem to forget about this fun fasting fact.       @thistle so sorry to hear that you’re having a difficult time getting a diagnosis. what type of doctor are you currently seeing for your symptoms? i was diagnosed by a cardiologist, but i know that many POTS patients are cared for my neurologists. if possible, you may want to explore seeing a POTS specialist and explaining your symptoms to them.

      I appreciate it! They checked all my electrolytes and every other level that could be causing this and they can back normal. I'm really good About stay hydrated as well. I will for sure try the bug method lol. It's just so disheartening that my doctor just doesn't want to try to figure it out

      drinking Gatorade is also good bc it is hydration + salt (good for blood volume) and yes the bug pose is good. you can also do a little bicycling in the bug pose for cardio but you don't have to stand up

      I have this with my pots, and even if you might not have it, drinking a ton of water to get your blood volume up does wonders, as well as some compression socks. If you are alone, or feel comfortable, lying on your back with your legs up in the air, (like a bug lol) does help for that moment. I’m not sure if you’re looking for ideas to stop the dizziness, or advice on how to make your doctors visit go better next time, though. So perhaps just check to see if youre dehydrated, because even if the blood pressure isn’t an issue blood volume might be. Since a lot of pots patients experience blood pooling in the legs and feet getting the blood volume up helps tremendously.
