I went through three different hospitals of doctors before I finally found one who diagnosed me and helps me. Of you're in Connecticut I can send his name. Of not you need to keep knocking down doors until you find a doctor who is not only smart but compassionate. That combo is very rare.

I’ve definitely experienced that. I’ve learned that if I’m able to get a different doctor that’s always the best route to take. Eventually you’ll find someone that listens but self advocacy is really important. Sometimes you just have to press doctors to do tests and things.
having them put things in your chart holds them accountable for what they do with that information
I don't trust doctors anymore sadly. I have to do all the research and work myself. I literally diagnosed myself with pots and had to prove it to my doctor. I kept a log of my heart rates from my apple watch and pulse ox. I saw a doctor a recently and she She asked me if I was "doctor shopping." She was my first doctor since my pediatrician and my pediatrician recommended her to me... told me my obvious symptoms of pots and dizziness upon standing "just didn't add up to anything." she said you have all these symptoms and they just don't add up to anything. She also said "you spend too much time on web md." Well yeah.. because doctors don't do their job and help me. She basically told me I was a hypochondriac. I'm still figuring it out myself how to be taken seriously but id recommend doing your homework and putting together symptom trackers, keep track of vitals if necessary, take pictures of anything weird and have them ready for your next appointment. Focus on what is bothering you the most because unfortunately dr.s get overwhelmed and don't help as much when you throw a list of symptoms at them from my experience. So keep a log of symptoms and look at patterns to see what occurs the most. They will want to know duration, severity (on a scale), types pain (be descriptive) ect.

@potsprincess yeah I had to have picture proof before my doctor believed I had a hernia or would even check. Now I take notes and document as much as possible so I can be prepared
@potsprincess I know that was long but hope it helps.
@potsprincess oh and request to see a specialist for said problem and have them put all the symptoms you told them in your chart because often times they don't. I find mistakes in my chart all the time
Definitely. It takes a lot of work to find a doctor that will help you, unfortunately. Sometimes it helps as you get more specialized, so maybe if you could be referred to an Electrophysiologist, it might help
