Hey. I had an ex breakup with me because of my depression. Now I’m scared someone else will do that, too. How do you force yourself to start dating again?

Getting hurt when it comes to relationships is sometimes inevitable. The best course of action I've found is to be friends first, see eachothers ups and downs and if it happens it happens. Have open and honest discussions with possible partners and understand that not everyone will be capable of filling the role and its better to leave it be than try to force it. The key is understanding that things sometimes just don't work out, having depression is not some big ink smudge on your ability to live in the way you want or find love, you just gotta find someone that can see past it and work with it, and if they can't then hey, their loss.

Do you have a medication that works for you?

@Daz Yes. I have it under control, but I’m still afraid of getting hurt because of it.

@Tone I hear that! Take some time to heal. Don’t rush yourself into dating before you are ready.
