Does anyone have their pulse drop after eating? I have a slow resting pulse anyway, but mine gets down to 44 when I eat. Anyone else, and if so what do you do to help?

@beingnotseeming Oh and I have found that eating smaller more frequent meals was helpful. I forgot that partš

Yes! There actually is a correlation between POTS flares and eating. When we eat thereās an increase in blood flow to the digestive system to help digestion and since we already have blood pooling in lower extremities thatās an added stress on our bodies. High carb meals can also have an impact. My cardiologist recommended smaller but more frequent meals when possible. Hereās some article links if you wanna read about it yourself https://myheart.net/pots-syndrome/diet/ https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/pots-diagnosing-and-treating-this-dizzying-syndrome-202110062611 https://dysautonomia-postsyndrome.com/pots-syndrome-diet/
I'm glad exercise offers you a little bit of relief! I have heard that L-Carnitine and Magnesium can help bring the heart rate back within normal range. I have not looked much into it because I don't ofter have a slower heart rate. It might be worth a look into?

Hi Margot! I don't have the specific issue of bradycardia after eating. I actually have the opposite problem. My heart races and beats very forcefully after eating. However, I have had moments when my heart rate has dipped into the 40s. The only thing that has helped me during these moments is just getting up and moving around to increase my heart rate. Does this happen everytime you eat?
@Healforhealth Not every time, but it seems to be happening more often than it used to. Iāll try getting up after I eat and moving around. Sometimes I have noticed feeling a lot better after exercising!
