Can't Stand the Sound of Gardeners and Vacuum Cleaners

Ok is this like an anxiety or ADHD thing? I absolutely can not stand the sound of the gardeners. It like makes my bones cringe. Same with the sound of my neighbors vacuum.

      Sounds maybe like it’s ADHD, but I have ASD and I have, what I call, “ick noises” and “bad touches”. So the noises are things like, how people hate the sound of nails on a chalkboard, but for me it’s like, whistling, scratching certain surfaces, some dog barks, and a few other things. It causes sensory overload sometimes and other times it just makes me want to crawl inside myself lol. So idk I think some people are just more sensitive to sounds and touches than others. 🤷

      This may explain ehy my daughter hates the grounds keepers working on her lawn so much. She's diagnosed with ADHD.

      I cannot handle the leaf blowers, both sound and smell. I have always been sensitive to loud and repetitive or ongoing sounds. I guess that would fall more under ADHD. I never really thought of what causes it to bother me. I was forced to "just deal with it" so, I focused on how to make it easier to deal with.

        @dolphinblues Like I've never been diagnosed with ADHD but I think I am. I can't stand this. they are actually power washing our apartments and the sound is like a lawn mower. of course it's on the only day I've had off this week and I have a migraine. I'm super pist. also haven't had a chance to clean my balcony so now they are gonna fine me. I hate my apartments. every week its some construction bullshit. I need to move it's so intrusive hete

          @Squishlover I've never been dx with ADHD either, but my kids and my sisters kids are. I'm positive I have it. Lawnmower noise is horrible. I definitely understand your circumstances with the apartment. Some landlords forget to take into account that construction/maintenance on the buildings can intrude on our ability to comply with certain regulations. They can be money hungry mongrels. 😡

      I would gather it's maybe more so ADHD. There are certain sounds I cannot handle on most days but sometimes it doesn't bother me at all. It's weird.
