I'm considering looking into having rumination syndrome because I have abdominal pain and regurgitate my food involuntarily; I have been diagnosed with GERD but I just want to cover all bases because the treatment I've been getting for GERD hasn't gotten rid of the regurgitation. I was wondering if along with unintentional regurgitation, if people with rumination syndrome can intentionally regurgitate their food if it hasn't been too long since swallowing, since that is something I can do that nobody else I know can do.

Yes, I believe most of us can. If it doesn't come up naturally, I tend to force it to relieve the stomach cramping.

One user mentioned being diagnosed with GERD, dysphagia, and rumination syndrome. They experience involuntary regurgitation, but it is not clear if they can intentionally regurgitate their food as well. It's important to consult a healthcare professional for personalized advice and diagnosis.
