I’m not sure if I have endometriosis. My mom had/has it. I have chronic stomach pain every day and heavy periods that make me fatigue and lightheaded. I also have heavy periods but I get worse pains and cramps when I have a tampon in. I also don’t know how to manage the pain. My doctor just said it was ibs. I feel like the pain is always there. Any advice?

An anti-inflammatory diet has helped improve my quality of life as well! It hasn’t taken away my pain completely, but my overall well-being/ brain fog had improved tremendously since cutting out gluten, dairy & red meat completely and cutting back on processed sugars, alcohol and caffeine. What works for one person may not work for another, but this helped me :)

I was also told that I just had IBS. I was also told at 19 years old that I was going to have to live with a colostomy bag to go to the bathroom for the rest of my life. 2 years later I had my laparoscopy, got my endo diagnosis, had endo excised from my bowels & have had so much relief with my stomach issues since. Don’t give up <3 If it’s a possibility for you I’d suggest finding an endometriosis excision specialist! You deserve answers!

get a laparoscopic surgery to diagnose the endo. that was how I got it diagnosed and had another surgery to get it taken out completely. it’s a pain to have the surgery but it’s the only way to know for sure.

I feel you!! Similar situation. Waiting on a laparoscopic procedure to rule in or out endo. It’s the ONLY way to diagnose it or fully rule it out unfortunately. Also if your doctor says “it’s just this” and doesn’t actually look into it…. BYE Dr. NEGLIGENCE. Make them take you seriously.

Midol is the only thing that works for my cramps and tampon wise that used to happen to me because of the fit. I essentially still can’t use them because my flow doesn’t match the one that actually fits inside me.

Push to rule things out. I’m in a similar spot. My mom is endo and I’m four years deep into seeking a diagnosis. My first Laparoscopy is mid dec

Try to limit your caffeine and alcohol consumption, use Advil when you need to and keep yourself warm by working out regularly and using warming pads on your belly. Hope this will help you manage your pain

Im sorry you’re going through this. Definitely get it checked out. Go on an anti-inflammatory diet (no gluten, no dairy, no trans fat, limited sugar). Heating pads, TENS units, and ibuprofen work wonders. Try taking supplements including zinc, iron, and magnesium!
