What's everyone's current hyperfixation, and what are you enjoying about it? Mine is currently insects, and has been for about a year now. Longest an interest has lasted for me. There's just so many of them and so much to learn~

Mine is art and strangely human augmentation (from prosthetics and how they work to extra senses provided by technology using sensory functions to train the human brain to sense something in a new way or incorporate a new sense entirely by using a different sense, to brain implants and medicine). 👀

Absolutely enamored by moss, mushrooms, and tardigrades! That being said, I love learning the weirdest most niche facts (often from history) and then finding a way to include the information in day to day conversation. My coworkers essentially use me as Google at this point and it’s great
Mushrooms and herbal blends. I spent 3 hours a couple days ago going down a 3-4 page rabbit hole (of notes) and looked into 6 schools, 2 programs, and 3 certifications 🤣 till 3 am.
Podcasts!!! Obsessed with fun, lighthearted syfy podcast 🤗

Gardening has been my main hyperfixation the past 6 months, when it was still winter it was brutal because I wanted to actually plant stuff but couldn't with the ground frozen lol. So the first 3-4 months was just very intense research, ammassing massive amounts of info into spreadsheets and calenders lol. Not that it's warm out I've been spending a vast majority of my free time either in the greenhouse (that my neighbor helped me build because he was "bored" lol) tending to the seedlings, or out in the yard slowly moving the literal ton of dirt (10 cubic yards) I asked for for my birthday last month (thanks to my mom for her always very literal interpretation of my requests lol) from the driveway into the raised beds, one wheelbarrow at a time. Transplanting starts next week and I'm very excited! It's been a while since I've had a hyperfixation last this long so I'm just having a blast riding the dopamine wave it's been providing lol
Mine is handlettering!
Aquatic tanks and animals. Impulsively bought a tank and everything Thursday during my lunch break at work lol
Currently it's miniatures. I don't have a lot of time /energy/money at the moment, so doing what I can (like YouTube videos before bed). It was all things aquatic (mostly related to fish tanks etc) until I got passed over for a job at work /winter depression, so that's kind of on hold right now.
the nyt crossword puzzles. literally play them all day and i gotta stop soon because eventually they cost money and ik i WILL buy them lol
frogs & legos!! i just made myself a lego frog keychain and i am designing a lego frog pond
Currently digital bullet journaling - been at it for about a week

@Chickenjeans what program are you using for that? I've wanted to try this out. I've been into planners lately
Horror movies, and traveling for sure!
My hyperfixation seems to bee on Machine Gun Kelly's music and watching "The Simpsons" till season 32 (currently on season 26).
I'm making jewelry! I started about 8 months ago, but it comes in waves. It intensified 5 days ago, learning to work with wire
