Hi, I suggest you go to a psychiatrist as soon as possible to get treatment, before your skin gets damaged and you are exposed to diseases. I know it, even when we really want to stop it is not possible without treatment. Suggest not to postpone it.
Same. I spend hours doing it but I live in a treatment center and the staff have only now noticed it which happens to be at the time someone else with really obvious dermatillomania comes in so they think I’m just copying them. I talked to my therapist abt it and she brought up the new person too. I wanted to get diagnosed so no one could think I’m faking but my therapist said she thinks it would be, and I quote, “a waste of time and money”. Anyone have any thoughts? 🥹
