When your depression and anxiety get so bad you can’t do anything, how do you get yourself to snap out of it?

      I set a 15-30 minute timer and put on some music and go for a walk...also I'm on meds and cannabis ❤️❤️❤️

      Remember to reward yourself. I used the same method as a lot of people here (I used small, small steps!!). I ended up turning my white board into a point board. I would just make a slash (or a mental slash) anytime I did something, even if it was easy, and even if it was really hard and would otherwise be easy! Teaching your brain to recognize the little successes will absolutely show it to look forward to them, even if it’s just a little bit more.

      Hi Kiti , sending ❤️. For me the only thing that works is thinking about the fact that the people I love most need me. Even though I may be beating myself up for not being good enough for them. I have to give them my best shot. They deserve that.

      Music can help temporarily, obviously not heartbreak songs. Being In the sun helps me. Watching stand up comedy helps me a lot. Distractions! Hope you're ok x

      I give myself a time limit. Sounds dumb but depending on what I "should be doing " I try to pick a time such as 3 pm and allow myself to feel whatever I am feeling until then but at 3 no matter what I do at least 1 thing I should or could be doing. Sometimes I will give myself the day but make myself get up the next day and fo something, anything. For me once I do one thing I end up continuing to do things without realizing. It doesn't always work but repeat, but the next time limit I have to do 2 things.

      Find something you can do, like breathing. Focus on doing that. Find your pulse point and start counting. Listen to music, or re read a favorite book. Change pajamas, if it's that bad. Even just the act of putting on clean clothing can help, Arden if it's just new underwear. Find a stuffed animal and cuddle it. Little, easily accomplished things are the ticket. Seven something as simple as when you get out of bed to pee, more to a chair. Good luck, and I hope it gets better.

      @kiti I am going through this right now. Nothing will bring me back up. I’m having a hard time making myself get out of bed even though I just lay there awake.

        @Careabear Have someone bring tou something to do while in bed. I've got millions of fine point markers, and a out 20 adult coloring books next to my bed. Some times when I don't feel like getting out of bed, I color a page or 2. Some days are just harder than others. Even if you can accomplish getting up and putting on clean underwear, you've accomplished something. And I'm very proud of you for that. Way to go!! Also tell yourself too. You should be proud of the those accomplishments. They may seem small to others, but to us, those are major. We will get to the big things when we are ready. Could be tomorrow could be next week. We never know. Good vibes and lots of love to you ❤️

      I ask people on this app what helps them to get out of their funk. I know other people are different and things work for different people but if you are open to trying new things I'd give it a try.🙏I like to listen to music( alternative, classical) go outside and get some fresh air...things like that. I hope that helps.

      Honestly the only thing that works is doing one thing at a time making a small to do list

      I try to get up and do one thing. It can be as simple as showering. Then once I can consistently do one thing I start doing two. It usually snaps me out of it within a week if I really concentrate on feeling accomplished doing one thing.

          @health1 to add onto @JoMo when I find something like showering hard too, I break it down into even smaller more manageable steps. For example I'll wash my hair in the sink, leave. Come back when I'm ready, then I get in the shower to wash. Or when eating is too daunting, I start with something small. I usually have cheese savouries, which are little biscuit things that are small enough I could eat in one bite or even just suck on them, but they're also not filling enough to ruin my appetite.💕

      I tried meds they made me feel worse. I sit in my feelings until I'm sick of it... I usually have to force myself to get out of the house or force myself to do something for Me

      I've had to go on meds. Gratefully they've helped. Took a lot of trying things that didn't unfortunately.
