I recently had to put my dog down and it has honestly been the hardest thing for me and i’ve been homeless at one point.. what are ways to help me keep distracted?

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve lost 2 dogs in my life time and it was definitely that hardest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t think it’s a good idea to get another dog before you are ready to be the leader it needs but that being said I can’t get out of bed without one. After I lost mine I only made it a few weeks before I rescued another. Having something to care for has always been a big help to my mental health personally. It doesn’t make it any less hard but I was able to forget my self pity and I also kind of rationalized it as my dog gave up their life so I could give another a good home. If you ever need someone to DM I’m here. If it was easy to do then you didn’t do the best for the dog. If it’s hard you cared about that dog and always tried your best.

@Rylee_B changing that behavior after it has been accidentally ingrained is super tough especially if it’s out of fear. I’m really sorry that happened to you guys though. If you want help with some dog psychology or just some support feel free to PM me so you don’t have to go through that again!
