Does anyone else with ADHD have to take naps? I can sleep a full 7-8 hours at night, but by the time I get home from work I'm exhausted. I've normally been taking one to two hour naps during the day to help with it. I'm still able to fall asleep pretty easily at night, but I've always heard that taking long naps during the day is unhealthy.

@strugglebus the reason I think it's ADHD related is that I didn't start needing naps until I stopped being able to take my ADHD meds. They're not available at any pharmacies near me, so I've been off of them for a week now.

I was like this all my life. It took until my sophomore year of college to be diagnosed with narcolepsy. But for me, I enter REM within 5 minutes of sleeping, so short naps aren't "good" for me. I don't feel rested. So maybe if you're exhausted at the end of the day your brain could have just sent you to REM sleep?

I am like this as well, but for me, I don't think it is related to my ADHD. But it is likely because we get overwhelmed after everything.

Currently undergoing diagnostic tests for other issues related to fatigue, but yes! Hadn’t really thought about this connection—but definitely something to mention to your doctor!

For me I get 6+ hours of sleep. My brain is sooo busy at night. And since I don't get good sleep, I take a nap. And yes, long naps are not good. (Yes I am being hypocritical...) If you can, talking to your doctor about this is good since sleep is super important to your health. I still need to find what works for me. Good luck! Maybe listening to brown noise will work for you?

@roseyy I've tried listening to white noise, but instrumentals works best for me
