my sister’s birthday is on the 20th, she’s turning 39, and i want to be able to talk to people. i want people to see that i can start a conversation, i just really suck at socializing 🥲 but i really want to get better with it, and show my boyfriend that i’m trying, because he knows about my social anxiety. i need to get out of my comfort zone i’m gonna be 23 this year and i’m still kind of nervous around other people. i need to break out of that. i’ve socialized with my boyfriend’s best friend’s gf and she’s nice, i met a lady at the dog park at his complex when i brought my cat and she fell in love with her so we started talking. so that’s a start but i need to get more used to socializing. any tips??

Well for one it'll be a lot easier to socialize when you know you have something in common. This is really easy when you meet them doing something you love like if you really like reading maybe go up and ask someone about the book their holding. Or if your at this Cafe you really like ask someone about their order. There's a lot of other stuff using your surroundings is a good tool and most people are atleast a little awkward so if the conversation is dying out and you don't want to leave with that awkward energy you can flat out say 'I'm so sorry I'm really awkward when talking to people' that will either keep to conversation going or have it end nicely depending on their response
