I have superrr bad anxiety and sometimes I do feel like this as well. More often I feel like I’m going to throw up when I try to take a bite or swallow. It’s like your nerves are so strung out that your body rejects food. Like eating takes too much effort and your body is trying to hold you together so it can’t afford to give up a little bit of energy. When this happens, I just save my food for when I’m more calm and instead try to drink something. Water, coffee, tea or even a smoothie all seem to be fine.

I’ve been getting that lately too. It feels like it’s stuck at the bottom of my esophagus. While it could be anxiety or heartburn related, I’ve noticed it’s worse when I eat too fast or overeat. I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to eat more slowly, thoroughly chew my food, and take a break after finishing my plate before immediately going for seconds. I saw a tik tok about putting your fork/spoon down with every bite so you don’t immediately start going for a second bite after your first.

It may be anxiety, but I get that same exact feeling because of gerd. That may be something you want to look into if you haven't already. It's really common for people with anxiety to also have gi issues. I hardly ever had heartburn, so I didn't think it was that at first, but it was. Hope this helps!
