I've been prescribed prozosin for my nightmares but haven't been on it for the past few months. I smoke weed before bed now it helps a lot of my anxiety and stress levels. But recently I've been having weird nightmares. not necessarily scary ones, but just weird. a man who SAed me keeps popping up but he's acting "normal" in the dreams and not hurting me. I just feel uneasy the whole time but don't know why until after I wake up. does this still count as a nightmare? should I take my meds again?

It can still be traumatizing to have someone who hurt you in the past to show up in a dream. I had a similar thing happen to me. I had dreams that my ex has been in, but he just tries to follow me and apologize and make up with me. It doesn't matter that he didn't do anything in the dreams, it still was hard to wake up and realize that I had a dream about him. I would suggest maybe trying to go back on your meds to see if they help. If not, maybe try talking to a therapist?

I looked that med up and it said antihypertension. Did i find the right med? I know some meds have multiple functions.

@MooieModer prazosin* is what I meant. It's used for nightmares but that's not the main function.
Medication isn't always the answer ultimately, but it may help in the meantime. This sounds like something you might need to work through? A good support system helps, but I really strongly recommend getting into therapy to manage fears, anxieties, and symptoms associated with any kind of assault. It saved me, and my nightmares, which used to be nightly, have nearly disappeared.
