I used to live in an abusive home. my abuser left, but I feel like when they left it made the other parent turn into someone I don’t recognize. I recently found out my abuser was taking away my insurance, something they promised to pay for on a legal document. I went to meet them for dinner. they exploded on me, the other parent did too. almost kicked me out. said awful things. I feel like i’m a kid again. how are you guys getting through these things?

This is horrible abuse and I’m sorry. Is there anyone you know who can help like a friend or family member
Hi hon, I've been there. It really sucks to be somewhat dependent on abusers financially, and I definitely relate with feeling like a kid again. Know that you are not in the wrong here, they are and they're likely trying to make you back down first because they know that they don't have a legal or moral leg to stand on. In this case, they are the children, throwing a tantrum. Big blowouts are always scary, especially if you're used to keeping the peace. Best of luck ❤️
