those of you with fibromyalgia, do you have physically demanding jobs? if so, how do you get through a shift?

I stretch, all the time, every second I have. I’ve got tiger balm, bio freeze progressional, and icy hot advanced. Lidocaine patches and 800ng ibuprofens and 1000mg Tylenols on me all the time. Rest when I can, work when I can

I work in a warehouse environment and it just depends on the task I am doing how physically demanding it gets, but I try my best to sit down when I can. Alternating between sitting and standing and stretching while working really helps compared to my last job where I was required to stand for the entire shift. Without caffeine/water and my ibuprofen, I’m not really sure how I would get through the week. Sometimes I forget to pace myself and that never goes well… I give myself a day off work in between the week to just rest and sleep because I find that if I go more than two days in a row working like that, I will have a bad flare up and horrible fatigue that requires more hours of rest to compensate for overworking my body.

Before my medical leave, I have been working as a nursing assistant for five years. Skilled care. I would try to prioritize my tasks and made sure I took my breaks even if I felt fine. If you don't, you will overextend.

@MsDaisyMae I work in a hospital but unfortunately I don't get to take as many breaks as I would like because we have something like a buddy system. What else could I do since breaks aren't always an option for me?

@XanderiaJune Stay hydrated, breathe because we know it's stressful.

I work in a hospital and don't seem to get any luck with biofreeze. Anyone have any luck with lyrica?

@XanderiaJune I'm on it and don't notice a difference. Even had my dose upped.

Stay at home mom here. I smoke concentrates (weed). It's the only thing that seems to get me thru my day.

@dreamer420 I’m a stay at home mom too… I stopped working a job because I couldn’t handle it.. I had my own hair business going but I couldn’t handle it.. being a stay at home mom isn’t easy but at least I’m able to pace myself and lay down and relax when needed. I smoke weed too! It’s the best thing 🤣

Yep lots of different pain creams. I smoke weed in the morning. I just keep moving and going and hope I can. I try to look at it as getting exercise.
