I give myself plenty of time to do things, and schedule way more downtime than a normal person would probably need. In fact, my downtime is probably why I can do other things.
For example, I have a flexible work schedule so I work certain days. I clean on certain days. I do laundry on a certain day. I study on certain days. If I don't clean or study, I don't beat myself up about it. There's always tomorrow.
I schedule time for hobbies too!
Oh my. Not too terribly good at that at the moment. I do the "have to's", make pets are fed, have water, bathroom is clean, good food to eat, etc. Then I may not be on top of laundry. Like I have clean clothes but they never got folded. I just can't stay on top of everything. I'm learning that that is ok. Hard though. I use to pretty dang good at staying on top of things.
I'm a graduate student, work part time, and have three children. There is always something to be done, and I'm terrible at balancing it all. I'm glad I'm not alone!
I make sure that if I feel frustrated I walk away and do something else like cleaning helps me or reading something that's off the phone. Then I get back to it when I calm down which usually means that I did some stuff I needed to do for the day while I was taking a break.
