Honestly? Just do it. I had the same fears, but I decided to do what made me happy. Chop off your hair if that's what you want to do. It doesn't really matter what people say. And, hair grows back. You can always wear a hat or something if it turns out bad. So, just do it and have fun with trying different styles! Having a mindset of 'who cares' is really helpful. I try to keep that up, but it is hard. Just try to inforxe the thought of 'who cares' into small things you do, and it'll become easier

One of the best ways to overcome those fears of what people will think, is to just do the things you like! When you do things because YOU want to, it's easier to start thinking "It doesn't matter how other people think I look, because I'm happy with how I look!" If cutting your hair would make you feel happy and confident, then do it for sure!! I will say this: the first time I chopped my hair I was SO afraid I would hate it. But the fact is, hair grows back so if it really isn't something you like, then it's a lesson learned. BUT having short hair is definitely something I love and I'm so glad I took the leap ☺️

If it’s what you really want, go for it! It’s just hair. It’ll grow back. And there are always hats, scarves, hoodies, etc in the meantime. Worst case scenario, you learn that you don’t like short hair.

This is how I ended up with dreadlocks and I absolutely love my hair now..

I used to get great anxiety about what my hubby thought about my hair. He is very old school and thinks all girls should have long hair. I spent 20 years with long hair that I really did not like, because I wanted him to like my hair. About 10 years ago, I decided to hell with that! It's my hair, I'm the one who has to deal with it, take care of it and comb it. I will do whatever I want to with it. He threw hissy fits about it at first, but the more adamant I was about it, the less he verbalized it. He still doesn't like it, but at least he doesn't say anything now. I'm all the more happier for it ☺️ It's your hair, do what YOU want with it!
