what do you use to remember stuff you're supposed to do? my mom always tells me certain chores she wants me to do the next day, and by the time the next day rolls around I've completely forgotten them. sometimes she tells me over the phone and I forget by the time I hang up. she gets really mad at me and says I'm lazy and not trying hard enough to remember. I need to find a way to remember my chores because we keep getting in fights over it and it's really hard on me emotionally. alarms don't work for me because I end up just turning the alarm off without looking. any other tips?

I suggest writing down what you need to do on a notepad or sticky note and put it somewhere you'll definitely look at later

i put EVERYTHING on my google calendar- it has events, reminders, and tasks, and will send me reminder notifications so i can schedule my tasks and move them around. i put everything on there, even stuff that is super quick, especially cause it feels nice to check it off. physical checklists would work too, but you can also create recurring tasks using gcal!

also tasks you don’t finish will roll over so it won’t disappear into the ether if you forget to do it

Writing them down has always worked. Or I've written things on my arm so I deffinitly don't lose it. Or tape it to your door. Can't avoid your door by accident. Or ask her if she could write the chores down for you that she would like you to get done.

I agree with everyone, where do you look the most? Write it down and tape it or put it there. Have her text you as a reminder before you're supposed to do it. Also try to explain to her you're not doing it on purpose and you would really like her help with reminding you, whether that be typing it up and printing it off, texting you it's time to do this, making you write a daily list in the morning, and also if you see something, do something! I know it's hard to finish a task but even if you see some dirty dishes, start them, laundry etc. She'll see you're trying then and I'm sure will be so much happier. If you have to sticky notes everywhere ! Lol it works, I also suggest music while doing the activity because I notice I focus on that task a lot longer with music

I saw a video where someone had different jars for different groups of chores, and put bracelets with each chore on into the jars. They would then put on the bracelets, and as they did the chores, put the bracelets back in the jar. Really smart to me

Another idea is a laminated list of daily/often done chores and checking them off with a dry erase marker once done

i keep a list and use an agenda, that way i can put them on future days if there's more non-immediate things. My mom keeps a physical list, which is really nice bc you physically see it and can get the satisfaction of crossing stuff off. When i had a lot of daily things i used a task calendar widget on my phone so i could see them and cross them off from my home scree

also i had the same alarm issue so just switching it up with different things can rlly help by preventing building a habit of ignoring it

i write down literally *everything* no matter how small. i use the notion app for organizing my to-do lists, and apple reminders for recurring/daily reminders like taking my meds or reminding myself to do something in an hour. i neverrrrr use a notebook because i forget to check what's in the notebook and i'll just plain lose it lol. i just use phone apps to make it easier on myself bc i always have my phone around.

I started buying mini composition notebooks and a gel pen. I write down so much stuff, but by the time I need the information I can remember because I watched myself write it down. Lol.

I add things to my calendar and synced my Alexa so she will announce the events 10 minutes before they start or more if needed. I also ask Alexa to add things to my calendar so I can do that at any point in my day without actually opening my computer and typing

I always made my mom text me what she wants that way I can just look at it when I forget and set alarms about i6
