I'm going to be all over the place with this post. 1. Has anyone ever scratched themselves with a needle? I was giving myself a Humalog shot, and as I went to take the pin out of my leg, I sneezed, and the needle scratched me pretty good. I made sure that it didn't break off into my leg, so I'm okay. but it bent, and I was just curious to see if this has ever happened to anyone else before? 2. I'm so tired of my sugar being so high for no reason. I've literally only eaten 1 sausage dog earlier this morning around 9 am. and I haven't eaten since, I've drank water all day, and my sugar jumped from the low 200s to mid 300s. like what the heck!!! but yeah. that's where I'm at with all of this today. I've just been annoyed with how much effort has counted for literally almost nothing, and I'm trying my best to eat and do the right things for my body.

1. yes, multiple times. not strange. 2. if your bg is high for "no reason", it's usually the basal, physical pain, or illness/infection. also, some people need to bolus for protein aswell as carbs.
@zellarius my endocrinologist doubled my long acting insulin from once to twice a day. My Humalog insulin base is 10 with food and +2 for every 50 my glucose is up.

@LotusFlower getting insulin doses right is trial and error, and it can take many trys and errors to get it right. your bg staying high indicates a need for more insulin. it may be your basal still despite being recently adjusted, it may be your carb ratio/meal insulin or your correction factor. you need to figure that out with your endo or by yourself.
