I'm scared my mental illnesses are what drive my ex boyfriend away. Things seemed to be going really well until a few nights ago when he went out to hang with a friend [i have no idea who]. He ignored me all night and when he got back to his house he broke it off over text and gabe me next to no explanation as to why. I called him in his way home because i was anxious and catastrophizing and I could hear how annoyed and sick of me he sounded. He knows I have trauma and abandonment issues with literally had a deep personal discussion on those topics DAYS before he left. So I think my trauma response was too much but I have no way of knowing when he wont tell me why he left. ~ Lenny, he/him *** [also not my real name dint worry I'm not that dumb lol]

I literally go through the same thing.. it’s like the more you fight to get them back because that’s all you want at that moment the more you push them away.. It hurts so much more when it feels like that I think. I’m trying to help myself work on it by giving the conversation a pause to reflect. It helps me to write down what I’m thinking at the time to keep my stronger feelings in mind and go through what I want to say when I’m calmed down a bit. I really hope this helps since I’m going through the same thing rn but yeah!!

I'll be perfectly honest here. I'm 59 now and I've been divorced 3 times. I'm currently still legally married to wife number 4 but we have been separated for 5 years. She lives 600 miles away. I haven't heard from her. I'm saying that to tell you I realize that it's probably next to impossible to have a quality relationship with someone who suffers from mental health issues. My mood swings have contributed heavily to me being alone now. Either people have walked away or I've pushed them away. It's very sad that in 2022 people still hold old beliefs about those that struggle. Sorry for being long winded.

I also suggest therapy/group therapy (if you're more comfortable with a handful of people who have dealt with those issues). And honestly you're partner may never fully understand what you're going through, but he should show love and support for you ❤️ and I know this sounds corny but there is plenty of fish in the sea. People come and go yes, but all that matters are the ones who stayed 💜
throughout my life i’ve been with so many unsupportive partners. Finally i’m with someone who truly cares about me. They don’t understand what i go through but they are supportive anyways. There are people like that out there and i’m sure you will find someone who cares enough to stay no matter what
I'm sorry that sounds stressful. Therapy would probably help with the trauma response issues. If your ex boyfriend isn't supportive you should let him go. There will be other people who are much more supportive and understanding. Sending love!!
