I feel uncomfortable with my friend who likes to compare our depression. To me it feels like they're glamorizing the amount of drugs I take and taking phrases they say too lightly. I don't know how to bring this up with then without sounding like I'm "more depressed" than them. I've had this feeling since I was in group therapy. I want to connect with people dealing with the same issues as me but not feel like this.

Tell them to knock it off cuz it shouldn't be competitive, tell them it sounds like they're routing instead of trying to be a support what you need as a real friend

i would tell them that they need to be respectful with the differences between you and them, every persons story and experiences are different and if something make you uncomfortable you should be able to tell your friend to stop without them lashing out on you
