hi, I started taking Lexapro 3 days ago now. I've felt very off since starting. I've almost been feeling depressed which is strange since I didn't have depression before. I guess I just want to know if anyone else has felt this way. I hate how I'm feeling. I know it can take months to feel normal again. it's just scaring me a bit.
I’m no expert, but sometimes anti-anxiety or antidepressants can worsen mood. Definitely consult your PCP, you might need to just try an alternative SSRI. Hope things get better. I definitely resonate with you ❤️
My brother in law got severe depression with Lexapro, he had to stop and switch to something else. Please be aware of how you’re feeling and be careful! If it gets worse let someone/your doctor know
I was on lexapro for many years. I was a zombie for the first few months. If that’s what you mean, it’s common. If it’s not (which it doesn’t sound like it is) then 100% see your doctor
Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with switching a medication because you don’t want to wait to feel “normal”. There are plenty of options that have more immediate effects
