So I know it's a symptom and also a side effect of medication, but I never thought I'd experience it... I'm losing my hair! Its lost at least half its thickness in the past year or so, and I'm really struggling with it. If anyone has any tips on how to keep hair attached to your head, if be most grateful 😭

I am stuck with duloxetine for my pain as both gabapentin and pregablin havent helped me, just made my brain fog worse 😩. Im now on top dose and worried i will have to medically retire at the age of 38/39 due to not being able to continue to work as a nurse due to my symptoms 😢.

@frustratedfibro my GP said they didn't think magnesium would have any effect, would you recommend it? I'm sorry you're going through this as well. Feel free to message x

I didn't even know there was a medication for fibromyaliga. I have been told by my doctor to just take paracetamolz

@melodyGrace there's meds to help with the pain, but that's about it. You'll still have flares and such. I took gabapentin for yrs, which is also an anti-convulsant, but has off label uses like nerve pain relief. But it does have a sedating effect. Now I take Lyrica (pregabalin), instead of the gabapentin. I also take Cymbalta which has some pain relieving properties as well as being an anti-depressant. Also getting more sleep can help with dealing with pain. I know insomnia is a huge issue. I also take sleep meds.

@melodyGrace there isn't a specific medication for fibro. I currently take pregabalin got pain, which is an anticonvulsant with other beneficial uses. I take nortriptyline for sleep. That's a tricyclic antidepressant, but it doesn't affect my mood at all. That's the one they think may be causing the hair loss. I take 7 other medications as well so it could be a combination 🤷‍♀️ If you want any further information about medications that may help you, feel free to message. I worked in Healthcare until my health declined, so between that and my own health issues, I've got a pretty good grasp of it.
