I've been put on Buspar for my anxiety. but they say it takes 3-4 weeks to be effective. I'm about a week and a half in and so far no relief. any suggestions on what I should do until it starts working?

I’m on Prozac for my anxiety and depression and it takes 6 months for it to work properly. It sucked but I was used to my symptoms so having to wait longer didn’t really make much difference to me. You can try other things like CBD to try and relax (depending on legality where you live obviously)

I do mindfulness and I mediate. I have been using grounding techniques. But I still have this baseline anxiety that's always there. I think its been a little bit better recently since I started the Buspar. I'm on 5mg twice a day. I see my doctor this Friday and will let her know what's going on and see if she has any suggestions also. I hate that it takes so long for these meds to work (or not work) so you have to wait to even up them or switch to something else

I am on the same and I don't feel much of a difference, I might need my medicine raised. I still have some anxiety, but it's not as bad as it used to be.

I have been taking Buspirone (generic brand) for many months now and it definitely helps me a lot more than without it. I am taking the highest daily dose I can tho which is 15mg 4 times daily. It can take time for it to fully get into your system. Tho for me it was almost immediate but I am very sensitive to medications so they hit my system very quickly. Just keep taking your meds and try to do meditation and mindfulness. It helps. I also just talk to my anxiety like she is a person and talk her down to a calm level

I ve been on Buspar for a few years, and my doctor just raised it a little bit about 2 weeks ago. I feel it does help me alot. It will probably take a little bit longer for you to notice that it is working.

      Buspar is a mood stabilizer.

I hated buspar. Didn't work for me at all. Hopefully you'll have better results🤗

Well keep taking as prescribed by your doctor. It does take awhile to start working, especially if it's your first medicine for it. And then when you meet your doctor again let them know how it is and they'll either raise the dose or switch you to something else. I'm the meantime, just doing your best to relax, do breathing exercises, talk to people, and take the meds is all I can say. Sorry if that's not what you're looking for.
