Any advice on how I can reduce or replace my medication without experiencing any adverse effects? since taking it I've gained over 50 pounds and I feel like a zombie. sure I'm not expecting any psychotic symptoms anymore. and I'm glad. but I don't wanna keep taking this medicine. I spoke to my psychiatrist and he said with my condition I'll have to be on medication for life. Any tips??

Did your psychiatrist offer to try different medications? I got out on Abilify which made me gain 60lbs in 4 months, and slept all day. My family said I acted like I was a zombie. I switched to Latuda (it took switching psychiatrists, but in the end it was worth it). I lost some of the weight and overall I’m happier on it. I recently had to up the dose as well, but I didn’t gain any weight when that happened.

@Asia42 everytime I spoke to my psychiatrist about the medication he just increased it. He increased it like 4x and the last time prescribed me something called metformin and it said it'll help me lose some weight. But I haven't experienced anything since taking it. I started to reduce the Seroquel by myself without my psychiatrist advice, cause I don't really trust him. It seems like he just keeps trynna pump me up with even more medication.
@H33M I’ve had psychiatrists do that to me before. I would try to find other doctors around the area. If you have a general practitioner/family doctor, try reaching out to them for a referral to another office. Referrals can help you get into some places quicker and some places require them. Good luck I hope you get this figured out (I once had a psychiatrist put me on so many meds that I started having seizures, and then he denied that that was what caused them. Sometimes doctors are terrible. I’m sorry you have to deal with this)
@Asia42 Put on* not out on
