I use my cane that wasn’t given or recommended by a doctor but it helps so much! I just found it at a thrift store for a great price. If it helps, use it! It’s not rude or offensive to use what genuinely helps. If anyone has a problem with that then that’s on them being ableist. Never feel bad for taking care of yourself!

If anyone gives you trouble, you can use the cane as a weapon and give them a good smack (kidding about that last part of course)

Absolutely yes! It's there to help you. You can buy it at a store, it's not a prescription. You don't need permission! Anyone can use one; whether it's temporary, some times, all the time, or permanent.

Make sure your cane is at a good height! You want make sure your shoulder isn’t elevating too much when you’re holding onto it or else that might start hurting too! Aim for about your wrist height when you have your arms down by your side!
