hi friends. i’ve recently been really struggling with my OCD and anxiety and depression and my prescriber prescribed me Prozac and I’m not sure when to take it, do you take it in the morning or evening and do you do anything afterwards to help yourself.m?

I take mine in the morning. I have all those same struggles and my dosage was recently increased.

I’m on several medications and some of them have specific times they have to be taken. I have to take levothyroxine for my hypothyroidism and that has to be taken “before breakfast, on an empty stomach.” so I take my Prozac and birth control around 10:30 pm. I’ve been doing this for years now and it works for me.

just got prescribed this as well. i’m on my second dose, and taking it in the morning currently. haven’t been sleeping well anyways so not sure if it’s the insomnia or meds making me sleepy... so gonna wait a couple more days to see. for you though, definitely just try it out either way first, and see how it makes you feel. so if it does make you tired, take it at night. but it could do the total opposite and help energize you since it’s a stimulant. or might not affect you much at all. but always talk with your prescriber if you still have any worries figuring this out. good luck on your prozac journey, i’m right there with you :)

I take it at night. For some reason if I take my meds in the morning I get super super tired mid day and then have trouble sleeping. I don't really know why but it works for me.

I take my antidepressant at night before bed. I keep it on my nightstand and it’s the last thing I do before I fall asleep. I’m too scatter brained in the morning to remember to take it.
