I have had Raynaud’s for a long time. But I haven’t had positive ANA. But I have an ANA blood test in the next few weeks. I am getting my bloodwork done earlier so I can take the results to my rheumatologist appointment. The blood work was order for January by my primary. But like I said I want to take this blood tests to my doctor in December.

I’ve had 2 positive ANA test only for my rheumatologist to tell me it was a false positive because theirs came back negative.. this whole negative and positive thing bothers me.. because different labs use different levels.. every lab should be on the same lab..

I can answer this from knowledge…. Every lab has certain types of instruments that do the testing. These different instruments vary in the population of it patients so when they do the calibrations the levels can vary some. They have ranges of what is normal. It’s true that “normal” can vary. Certain conditions a result in the normal range is actually too high or low depending on many Many factors. I want to say Vitamin D is like this for patients who had bariatric surgery. What is normal could actually lower than ideal for weight loss patients. Or people with depression may also need higher levels of Vitamin D. Thyroid tests also can be deceptive…. I used to be a medical technologist who worked in hospital labs preforming blood work testing.

What is an RNP? I am not familiar with that. Ok. Looked into it a little. What symptoms do you experience? Wharton do you think you are suffering with? Some things don’t require or call for surgery…. I have severe neck and back pain and a few others pain locations. I have had so many surgeries for different things. I honestly don’t want to go through any more. Like the back and neck pain. Take time to recover and are painful during the recovery process and it doesn’t alway bring relief. Sometimes it makes the pain worse and has other complications like lack of movement if they do a fusion. 😥 😥 😥 I don’t know if she has those previous tests. If you are concerned ask her and have a copy to give her. I had a false test or so was told. My glucose was like 36. Got told it could gave just been the red blood cells utilizing the blood sugar and it really wasn’t low. Depends on the level of these tests that are False Positives could be borderline elevated and not mean anything. I always have low CO2. But no one says anything about it. If you want answers seek out a second or third opinion. Some of the things I was reading about those tests is it can take years to get a proper diagnosis.

after this round of testing I’m going to determine whether or not to get a second opinion.. the normal range for RNP antibodies is 0.0 - 0.9 …. I’m April mine levels were 3.4 and that’s high.. with my blood routine blood work my hematocrit was high back in April too… yesterday the results for hematocrit was high at the same level from April.. my glucose was low and something else was low too.. the panel stuff haven’t came back yet.. but I saw she ordered some other antibody testing that I haven’t had so we will see what that is taking about… My thing with the antibodies being false positive or positive is that it’s a lot of people who have RNP antibodies and it’s high.. they have MCTD which there is medicine for.. it works for some but not everyone.. if that’s possibly what’s wrong I could be getting that medication and it could possibly work! It’s like damn I could be feeling better lol it’s hope there! I’ve tried damn near everything for “fibromyalgia” and nothing works.. the side effects just makes everything worse!

I don’t know about these antibodies. Medications could help, or like the fibromyalgia meds they don’t work. I have tried tons of medications for fibromyalgia and for migraines. I mean I have been told I have tried almost everything for migraines. Nothing helps with those. I don’t know what else to try. I am on Vypeti and Botox and Ubrelvy and another one for nausea. I also try Magnesium, CoQ10, and B2. I haven’t had much luck with fibromyalgia meds either. Just can mean our case is more complex that others. Or that our body’s don’t respond to them. I looked up hematocrit which it can be elevated if your dehydrated. There can be other diagnosis instead.
