It’s so hard to make friends with social anxiety. And then if I do make friends, I can’t keep them because of my borderline personality disorder. It’s so difficult

I have both of these conditions and I fully understand where you’re coming from. I personally found it easier to connect and befriend others who also have either BPD or anxiety (even perhaps both). As they seem to be the only ones who can truly understand why you are the way you are and why you do what they do. I met one of my closest friends in a DBT group therapy meeting and they understand my habits and symptoms more so than any of my other friends and never get passive aggressive when I show signs/symptoms of my illness. Living with BPD is painful, and it can seem like you’re always at a loss— but keep pushing. You’ve got this.

Have you tried joining a group based on a shared interest? That usually gets the conversation started.

I'm sorry 😔 same thing happens to me. I've been living in the city where I am now for about two years and I have maybe 4 friends ... Not sure one of them is still speaking to me. Do you know meetup or couchsurfing? It can be a nice and casual way to meet new people.

Ever thought of community groups? I go to a social group at the local college, we are all neurodiverse
