I was thinking of going on sleeping meds but I also don’t put enough nutrition in my body. I sometimes go days without eating and bc I’m an athlete, I know that’s bad. But it’s like sometimes I just don’t have the appetite to eat. But again, something I found helpful recently, is making a playlist of soft music you like, and it’s been helping :)
I've never really had trouble sleeping but have been lately, even with my meds. Thinking for a while that they need to be adjusted. But some things that I like are calming nature sounds, lavender oil, and my weighted blanket.
I have tried this and it helped for a little. But then I think the reason I couldn’t sleep while in college was bc of constant overthinking and stress. But recently, I’ve done this & it’s been helping. And or listening to my soft music I like. Thank you :)
I like to use melatonin which is usually a dissolvable tablet. I also like to listen to beach waves you can find one on YouTube. If you’re interested I’ve been using this app called Calm and it offers different soundscapes as well as guided meditations. I believe it has a membership charge.
Thank you! I had Calm for sometime, and it’s helped. But like I mentioned above ^^, it’s been harder to fall asleep bc of stress. Although, another app I like to use is Tide
Dialectical Behavior Therapy helped me a lot, because it gave me a lot of mental tools to help me when I'm anxious. Something I learned early on was to go to bed earlier. The later I chose to go to bed/sleep, the more disordered my thoughts would be. Make sure not to go to bed too early, then you're laying there not tired and thinking. With that in mind, instead of going to bed at 3am, I would go to bed at 11pm. Calming music or even just ear plugs would help too. Also stuffed animals. Try to just generally make your bed feel like a safe space by putting a lot of comfort stuff there.

I always felt tired when it was time to be productive throughout my day, and up thinking when it’s time to gts. But I have been sleeping with a weighted and or fluffy blanket to help put me to sleep, which has been helping :)
Before it’s too late, try some of the tips that other people have been giving me. It’s not too late to start, so don’t be afraid. Try either listening to soft music, and or putting a playlist together. Try reading a boring book that’ll make you get tired quicker. Try sleeping with a comfort stuffed animal and or blanket. And or you could download apps like Calm or Tide that has landscape sounds like someone mentioned above. I like listening to rain sounds usually, since when it’s raining & bleak outside, your body gets more tired. Hopefully that helps :)
I use to get very bad anxiety where it was hard to fall asleep, and when I got to sleep I would have anxious dreams and wake up not even an hour later, and repeated that process.
I went to a doctor and she prescribed anti-anxiety meds,, for a couple weeks it got way worse and I was anxious throughout 24h instead of at night and in the mornings. (Most people give up on the meds because of this) but I stuck with it and I can finally sleep and im not as anxious🙏🏼
I was talking to my doctor, but bc I don’t put enough nutrition in my body, she recommended that I don’t get prescribed until I do so. And you’re right, the anxiety medication I feel for me, doesn’t work as I hope they’d do. But for you, I’m glad they’re getting better and that you’re finally able to get some sleep. If you have the same problems later down the line, try some of the ideas that people or what I recommended to others in the comments above. :)

Unfortunately melatonin does not work for me. However, I have tried taking “Tylenol PM” which was recommended by my doctor. Also, thanks for the new form of insomnia that I have now learned! :)
I do that too, since I found it easier to gts when I’m sad. But you should try some of the suggested recommended by others above ^^ and or some things I have mentioned as well. Hopefully some of those help :)
it sounds like your an overthinker and so am i. i got on medication for it and it def calmed me down but i still tend to overfeel and think past experiences so these things seem to take time.
Exercising can be really helpful, if I’m so worn out I can’t think then I just pass out. Weed can also help but I try not to use it for that because I get dependent on it. Mugwort tea is awesome and calms me down but you gotta research any possible drug interactions beforehand. It’s also not good if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. Deep breathing and mediation before bed can help you get to a calm state. The biggest thing for me personally was getting on Prozac, it changed my entire sleeping life. Insomnia is now something I deal with only when my anxiety is really bad, it’s not a nightly occurrence anymore
Mine has been causing insomnia in the middle of the night. I finally asked for a mild sleeping med. it helps but it’s still present to some degree at night when I wake up from pain and then my mind takes over.
my anxiety medication helps me with insomnia, but not a lot, so I do breathing exercises and I also use sleep lotion. The brand is called Dr. Teal's and it's a lavender lotion. Burning lavender incenses have been helpful to me as well. If I start to panic at night, I listen to something calm before sleeping or drink chamomile tea. I hope this helps
