Does anyone have a really good experience with eliminating specific foods and it helping with your pain? I’ve thought about it but really haven’t looked into trying this method for my pain.

@beingnotseeming I did the autoimmune protocol and I found that really helpful. I may get a point to eat less processed food after that because I noticed that that made somewhat of a difference as well

I have! I have a gluten intolerance and the flareups gluten can cause with my RA, fibro, and migraines are some of the Worst.

I did learn before starting g ANY diet talk to your primary, research and possibly see a nutritionist before starting. I didn't do that which is what caused me so many issues

I spent years trying different diets and eliminating certain foods. I did it all Low sugar No sugar Vegan Vegetarian Gluten free Keto Paleo Low carb Low fiber High fiber Caffeine free Among others none of them helped and they all just made me miserable not being able to eat with my family and having my own separate food. Some made I hard for me to maintain my weight. One I kept losing weight too fast amd couldn't eat enough. I think the vegan, keto a.d low carb all caused me to end up in the hospital due to extreme dizziness. The vegan one actually .ade me oass out due to my nutrients getting out if whack Others caused me to gain weight amd struggle to get it off. The gluten free one to be specific. I am currently on a low dairy diet but that's due to a sensitivity to too much dairy amd jothi g to do with migraines

Yes!! I did the autoimmune elimination diet and we eventually found that I have a gluten intolerance. My skin drastically improved and I did not realize the amount of pain gluten caused my body. I experience really bad flares if I eat it. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and chronic migraines and they also will flare up if I have gluten.

I went on a raw food vegan diet for awhile that really help to relieve the pain. I had to stop it a couple years ago because it’s a really hard diet to keep up with and super hard to get the nutrients your body needs. I would recommend talking to a trusted doctor or dietitian to talk about food triggers and construct a diet that would work best for you and your needs.

I think it can't hurt to try some eliminating. Diet can really effect your health. One thing that I try to avoid are processed foods, there isn't enough research done on fibro to even begin to understand how those chemicals could effect the body of a fibro patient

I have a fibro flare within hours of eating any amount of gluten. I can’t even touch flour or be in the room with it in the air or I’ll end up in pain, weak and exhausted.

I worked with my allergist and gastro I’m vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free, corn free and limit sugar and alcohol Soy and eggs are not triggers for me but are for a lot of people. Same with nightshades. Anti inflammatory diets have also helped a lot of people

To be honest i haven't even thought about it. I already restrict my food due to allergies and food intolerance and had no idea food could affect Fibro. There's some food for thought. I always say it can't hurt to try
