Has anyone here ever left a psych ward or emergency room feeling worse than before you came in after a psychotic episode? I am trying to gather perspectives of others who have gone through these experiences (as I have) and would like to know what they could have done differently in order for you to feel like you actually got help. I will be sharing your feedback with the director of patient relations at a local hospital. Thank you so much for your insights 🙏🏽

For me its all depends on where I go, some places have better routines and care in place than others. The last place I went there was someone admitted who didnt speak English, for the two weeks i was there they never had an interpreter and they sat in a corner by themselves. The doctor didnt listen to my symptoms, just prescribed me strong medication that I had to take in order to leave, the groups were just checking in that you woke up on time and made it to group without any actual learning about anything in regards to mental health or why you were there. It was bad and I did what I had to in order to be discharged. A different place I went was very structured and clean and groups were actually helpful. I left there more hopeful and more clear minded than when I left havenwyck.

@Owlstoe Thanks for your feedback. Someone should make a Yelp for psych wards.
