My name is Hunter, I’m 22. I have anxiety/depression but more recently I’ve had major digestive issues (sometimes to the point where I can’t eat for over 24 hours). During the worst of my symptoms it takes a huge toll on not only my mental health but also my partner’s. I have an appointment with a GI coming up in a few weeks but what else can I do to keep our heads above water until we know what’s up?

Start logging things. When you sleep, when and what you eat, literally everything. Stress, bowel movements, pain, discomfort. Please write down everything. It will save you time in diagnostics. Write down times, severities, even “saw my cousin today”. Also a side note for your partner- my boyfriend finds it really comforting during my flares when he has something he can do that he knows helps me, we made a list when I felt well of things I would appreciate during flares. This makes him feel useful and productive, and it helps me so much by him knowing what to do instead of hovering over me nervous

I have also been having extreme stomach problems and nausea for almost a year now. (Im working on scheduling an upper endoscopy.) So if nausea is a problem, I might have some pointers to help you eat better? What are your worst symptoms?

Thank you so much! I’m gonna try this for sure.
