I'm mostly putting this here to vent but anyone who dealt with similar is welcome to offer advice. I lost my father a couple years back and it's been very traumatic for me. Almost as if by instinct around important dates I start getting Ptsd triggers. They usually aren't strong enough to bother me but they come and go in waves sorta speak. It's almost fathers day and sometimes thinking about it I'm put right back into the emotions of the day it all happened. I hope this paragraph made some sort of sense

I personally haven't experienced this, but I can see it in my partner around the date of they're mothers birthday and date she passed. I wish I could give advice, but as it's not me I feel like it's odd to. I just try to support them the best I can. I usually ask if they want to be heard or if they want to talk or a distraction, and do one of the handful of options I think that could help
