Hello friends, it's about 4 AM where I'm at, and I need some advice/tips. I have had insomnia since about age 7-8, and I used to take an insane amount of melatonin (more then I probably should have). Since then, I had to switch to Benadryl because the melatonin began having no effect. This past month or so, I physically haven't been able to sleep any time before 4-5 AM, and Idk what to do. I've been extremely depressed, as being alone with my thoughts late at night tends to cause me to spiral, and it's causing a lot of other issues of mine to flare up as well. Does anyone have any advice?

Have you tried looked into plant based products that can help you sleep in 30 minutes?

I know this sounds cliche but I got a more physically intensive job and I've started walking my dogs before bed or just doing some movement, or light cleaning (vacuuming, dishes, making the bed) and that seems to help my body relax. My dog does DPT for me and that really helps too. I can't sleep unless another dog or human is with me.

They make edible options for everything now. No need to smoke!

I've heard wonderful things about the weighted blanket. And perhaps white noise. THC helps me sleep on the regular!

@Dreajane I actually use delta 8 at night with my meds and it is a game changer!

I like a brand called Koi. I buy it locally, but you can also order it online. Although, most health food stores sell CBD in different strengths and forms as well.

Have you tried CBD or something like that?

@pvnkg1rl75 I totally want to and would, but I live in a highly strict religious household currently. However, if and when I am able to, do you have a recommendation on a type? (Idk anything about CBD)

I currently sleep with a weighted blanket and white noise to help relax me! Or even something else like rain or a nice fire.. If you're troubled by too many thoughts sometimes meditation can help or not using your phone for an hour before bed can help too. Light might also be a factor, a nice warm night light could soothe you or maybe some black out curtains!

@koalemos I love my curtains and my weighted blanket, I'm just struggling to get my brain to turn off honestly! Like I just physically can't stop thinking. I'll def try some meditation though!
