i have a psychiatrist appointment in a week, but i ran out of my antidepressant/anti anxiety meds & i have no refills left. i’m bipolar so i’m so scared my mood is going to plummet & i’m not excited for the brain zaps. i have my first family therapy appointment today with my mother which i have been anxious about for weeks & i’m nervous for the aftermath. i know it’ll be triggering & i don’t know what to do.

You can call your doctor to ask for another refill, even for just enough until the appointment. But for family therapy, I did my first session with my parents in June, and it drastically changed my relationship with my parents for the better. They had told me they don't support me many times, both with actions and words, but after therapy my dad actually said "it's awful finding out I was the bad guy the whole time". Your therapist is there to support you and help your mom listen to you, but they're also there to help you listen to your mom. Try to wait a few days after the appointment to bring it up again, so you both have time to to process what was talked about

Call your doctor - if they won't give you a full refill they should be able to give you just enough until your appointment - or you could ask the pharmacy the same thing - that's what they used to do for me sometimes - both the doctor and the pharmacy cuz the pharmacy sometimes got ahold of them better / faster
If you run out of options, try virtual urgent care apps like Amwell, Teledoc or Doctor On Demand. For me, they’re free with my insurance. They will refill rx for you if your regular doctor isn’t available.

I would try calling your doctor and see if you can have them refill it, or if you can get a sooner appointment. I hope your family therapy appointment goes well, if it doesn't I'm always here to talk 💟 I used to do family therapy, so I get how stressful it can be
